Description
In winter, the Hérens cows leave the pastures and return to the village stables. Take this opportunity to step inside a farm in Basse-Nendaz and discover the daily life of these iconic Valais animals up close.
After giving birth to their calves, the cows are milked twice a day until spring. The farmers also feed, care for and groom them. During the visit, discover these different tasks and learn more about daily life on the farm. The more adventurous can even try their hand at traditional hand milking, while others can taste freshly milked milk.
The experience continues with a visit to the cheese cellar, followed by a small tasting directly on the farm. Enjoy local cheese and other regional products to round off the evening on a delicious note.
You’ll meet at Nendaz Tourisme at 17:00 before travelling to the Courtena farm in Basse-Nendaz in your own vehicle or by carpooling with other participants. A host will accompany you throughout the evening. The activity ends at around 20:00.
